"You don't know me but..."
Apologies to the Doobie Brothers.
Allow me to introduce this blog and state our mission:
With a nod to the tea party activists who have started a year ago, this blog is dedicated to taking our country back. Back from the brink. Back to the vision of freedom that our founders had. The creeping socialism that took hold during the FDR era, during another "crisis" that was used to frighten the citizenry into giving up their freedom, has now sped up to a gallop. The march has been incremental yet relentless. The power grab on display this week under the guise of health care "reform" is an outrage.
This forum will give a voice to those that seek it. While the biggest problems are clearly at a national level this forum will pay special attention to the Chicago scene. Here in the "windy city" we feel the frustration and disgust of living with corruption at every level. Our town, county (a useless redundancy), state and federal government are all bankrupt. Our politicians are a laughing stock; a national disgrace. With one ex-governor in jail and another one headed there it is easy to feel helpless. But if we are to "drain the swamp" what better place to set up headquarters?
Input is welcome. The mission is to create a dialogue that can cut through the deception. Let's have the debate that our politicians refuse to have.
One rule:
No BS. You are entitled to your opinion but not your own facts.
Every attempt will be made to "fact check" this forum and lies, deceptions and myths will be culled with extreme prejudice. The goal is not endless debate-the goal is enlightenment. Important decisions need to be made. Crucial steps need to be taken.
